We are all marked. We are either marked for Heaven or marked for Hell. Our names are either in the Lambs Book of Life or they have been removed (by our own doing, by the choices we make).
The End times are coming. The Tribulation is coming. Armageddon is coming. Heaven is a real place. Hell is a real place. Heaven isn’t a place where all the uptight, boring people go. And Hell isn’t a place where all the hip, fun, party people go. Read Luke 16:19-31.
Our mark and eternal address is determined not by the righteousness of a relative but by our own righteousness (through Jesus Christ),. (Read Ezekiel 14:12-20) Only through the blood of Jesus Christ can we be marked for Heaven. Only through our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior can we be marked for heaven. It is only by His sacrifice and death that we are cleansed and made righteous.
As Christians, we know this. We worry and pray for those we know and love that are not saved. We talk to them about Jesus. We talk about all that God and Jesus have done for all of us. We want them to know the loving side of our Lord and Savior. Do we talk to them about being marked for heaven or for hell? Do we talk to them enough about the realities of Hell? Or do we shy away from talking about Hell because we don’t want to scare them off?
I have loved ones who aren’t walking with the Lord and I talk to them about Jesus and pray for them. But while I express my great fear that they will go to Hell to the Lord and pray that, that does not happen, I don’t talk to them about Hell nearly enough. I don’t do all I can to make the horrible anguish and suffering of Hell a reality to them. Am I afraid talking about Hell will drive them farther from God? Yes. Am I doing them a disservice? Yes.
I need to be able to look myself in the mirror and know I am doing all I can to bring them to the Lord. I need to be able to go to the Lord and know I am doing what He commands. I don’t have the knowledge or the words to be effective, but God does. He will give me the words if I ask Him. Through the Holy Spirit, God will give me the words to say and the Scriptures to use. God will do the same for all of us, but we have to help. We have to keep our prayer life strong and we have to read our Bible every day.
